  Sprinkler Doctor, Inc. is a member of the Better Business Bureau. We carry all necessary liability insurance as well as workers compensation insurance. Sprinkler Doctor was incorporated in April 2000. The company is owned by Mark and Carol Lawhorn, both are from Columbus Ohio. We are not a franchise. Sprinkler Doctor services all makes and models of sprinkler systems, even if we didn’t install the system. We offer a yearly service contract that saves you money by paying in advance for your spring opening and winterize. We service all of Central Ohio. Sprinkler Doctor is a charter member of the Ohio Irrigation Association.

  Installing an automatic sprinkler system is a complex task. It is best to hire a professional with expertise in efficient sprinkler layout, hydraulics, soil types and water needs of various plants. Professional installation is also your key to a warranty, after-sale service, and long term reliability.

   But how do you make sure that the person you hire is qualified to do the job? Here are some handy guidelines to follow when choosing a contractor:

• Ask for proof of liability insurance - at least $1,000,000 in coverage
• Ask to see their Workers Compensation Certificate

• Check Angie’s List – www.angieslist.com
• Talk to references
• Talk to local irrigation suppliers, Wolf Creek, Irrigation Supply
• Make certain the contractor inspects your property prior to submitting an estimate
• Insist that the installation be completed in a timely manner - usually 1-3 days depending on the size of your property.
• Beware of low bidders that take costly shortcuts
• Be sure the contractor will obtain any required permits
• Be certain the contractor will install the backflow prevention device required by local codes. They should also have it inspected for you upon installation.
